Book Bloke is a free, publicly searchable reference for New Zealand book data: titles, ISBNs, covers, formats and descriptions, sourced directly from publisher feeds rather than scraped or guessed.
For every title we list, we show every retailer that stocks it and link straight through to them. We don't sell books ourselves - we're a signpost, not a shop.
Good, structured book data is surprisingly hard to find in one place in New Zealand. Publishers maintain it, retailers duplicate bits of it inconsistently, and readers are left guessing which edition is actually the one in front of them. Book Bloke exists to be the tidy, canonical, freely-linkable version of that data.
Every book page is designed to read well for a person, but it's also readable by search engines and AI assistants: full structured data (schema.org) is embedded in every page, and a plain-text Markdown version of each book is available alongside the normal page (look for the link at the bottom of any book) - so if you're using an LLM to research a title, it can read the facts directly rather than guessing from a rendered page.
If you publish books and want your catalogue listed accurately (and kept up to date automatically), see what Book Bloke can do for your online visibility.
